Role: graphic design - corporate identity, logo and presentation templates.
Emberion develops and produces graphene solutions.
As graphene is an allotrope of carbon, a hexagonal shape was a desired shape in the logo.
It is widely used also in other context in addition to carbon.
From around 25 sketches the Client selected a proposal where a hexagon symbol replaces the letter “O”.
The hexagon is fade out by multiplying the shape.
The space between small hexagons is inspired by dark cracks in an ember.
Client briefed brisk and fresh colors. They were naturally executed in the symbol by lighter and hotter center, and cooler surroundings.
In the black and white version the center is left out to look hotter than the surroundings.
Both the Client and I wanted a modern and simple font, yet with a distinguished appearance. It had to match with the symbol.
A part of the symbol is repeated in all company presentation material.
Business cards are matte as a reminder of the carbon.
